ME

Michael Elion is a lawyer, investor, entrepreneur and former family-office executive whose career has largely been built around one recurring problem: how to understand complicated systems well enough to make better decisions across all of them.

He has served as president and general counsel of a family office, advised private companies and investors, worked on acquisitions and other transactions, managed operating businesses, structured entities and investments, and built and managed his own portfolio of public and private assets.

Before practicing law, he trained as a biological anthropologist and worked as an environmental scientist. He later graduated magna cum laude from Duke University School of Law.

The central idea behind Family Office of One is simple: a family with meaningful assets does not need to imitate a billion-dollar family office, but it should borrow the way one thinks.
